Emery, Brenda Hollier honored on 50th wedding anniversary

RAYNE - A 50th wedding anniversary hospitality was held Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, in honor of Emery and Brenda Hollier of Rayne.
The couple was married on Nov. 20, 1965, during a wedding ceremony held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Rayne.
Mrs. Hollier is the former Brenda Thomas, daughter of Ethel Breaux Mouton and the late Wilbert Thomas. She was employed as a correspondence clerk for Lafayette General Medical Center.
Mr. Hollier is the son of the late Freddie Hollier and Angelique Doucet Hollier. He was employed as a public works employee for the City of Rayne.
The couple’s daughters are Jacqueline Hollier Harmon and Heather Hollier, both of Rayne.
For the afternoon celebration, Mrs. Hollier wore a champagne dress and was presented a burgundy corsage accented with baby’s breath and gold leaves. Mr. Hollier was attired in a beige shirt and brown slacks and was presented a burgundy boutonniere with accents of baby’s breath and gold leaves.
Over 30 guests enjoyed homemade gumbo with all the trimmings, in addition to a special anniversary cake, a three-tier white confection with strawberry filling topped with gold ribbon, flowers and number “50.”
Guests attended the afternoon event from Rayne, Crowley, Mire, Church Point, Scott, Eunice, Carencro, Breaux Bridge and Sulphur.
