While author Tony Olinger was autographing copies of “Lost Rayne,” the lastest pictorial history of the Frog Capital of the World, some 200 area residents were treated to several displays of historical items, including artifacts from the Mervine Kahn Company and Jacques Weil Frog Company.
Of special interest was the showing of film footage of Rayne, some dating back to the 1930’s, including scenes of downtown Rayne, the Mervine Kahn store before it closed in 1994, the great flood of 1940, homecoming parades, school dances and other events.
