Ida Schexnayder Hanagriff

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Ida Schexnayder Hanagriff, 57, who died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at 2:20 a.m. in Crowley.
Ida was a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. She was a 1976 graduate of Crowley High School. She was a substitute teacher with the Acadia Parish School Board. She was a member of the Crowley Town Club Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed collecting seasonal arts and crafts along with displaying them in their home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. “MiMi” had a special bond with her six grandchildren in donating her time, talents and treasure to them and Redemptorist Catholic and Northside Christian School.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Ida is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 38 years, Glenn Hanagriff of Crowley; one son, Ryan Hanagriff and wife Mandy of Crowley; two daughters, Janna H. Thompson and husband Ryan of Crowley and Amanda H. Hollie and husband Broc of Crowley; one sister, Debbie S. Guidry and husband Wendell of Crowley; and grandchildren, Hunter Thompson, Zoie and Zera Hanagriff, Aleigha and Griffin Hollie; three godchildren, Neil Guidry, Amanda L. Guilbeau and Josh Wells; and her special Yorkie, Paris Marie.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Halle Makay Thompson; her parents, Thompson and Odelia Hanks Schexnayder; and one brother, Tommy Schexnayder.
Pallbearers will be Neil Guidry, Jimmy Guidry, Broc Hollie, Ryan Thompson, Albert Leleux and Wendell Guidry.
The family requests memorial contributions in Ida’s memory be made to Redemptorist Catholic or Northside Christian School.
