Marjorie Lou Hayden Abshire
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at First United Methodist Church with private graveside services to be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana, following for Marjorie Lou Hayden Abshire, 85, who died Dec. 4, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Ms. Abshire was an instructor for dancing and exercise classes with the Council on Aging. She was a former dancer with the Swinging Sixties Dance Group and was currently performing with the Silver Bells. Ms. Abshire was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Marjorie was very passionate about animals. She volunteered her time for the local humane society and was an animal rescue activists. She also participated and won numerous awards in the Senior Olympics. Marjorie was an avid supporter of the Grand Opera House.
She is survived by four sons, Thomas Raymond Henry of San Francisco, California, Todd Robert Henry of Moorpark, California, Timothy Richard Henry of Tampa, Florida, and Terrance Roger Henry of Tampa, Florida; and 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and also her pets, Sarah, Boo, and her kitty.
Ms. Abshire is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Allison Joseph Abshire; her father, Everett Hayden; her mother, Florence Barker Hayden; and one sister, Francella Lane.
