Rodney George Miller
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Rodney George Miller, 83, who died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at 8 a.m. at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings.
Mr. Miller was a native of Iota and longtime resident of Lafayette. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his county in the Korean War. Rodney was a retired steel worker who worked throughout the United States and Jamaica.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Friday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Mr. Miller is survived by two brothers, his twin, Raleigh Miller and wife Audrey, and Larry Miller and wife Jackie, all of Iota; one sister-in-law, Angel Miller of Iota; two nieces, Josette Guillory and husband Billy and Dana Daigle and husband David; 10 nephews, Timmy Miller and wife Patricia, Glynn Miller and wife Amie, Bryan “Bruneaux” Miller and wife Sonia, Benny Miller and wife Mitzi, Stewart Miller and wife Shanie, Eric Miller and wife Amy, Jonny Miller and partner James, Brad Miller, Sammy Miller and Michael Miller; and a large number of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Alzena Leger Miller; one brother, James Calvin Miller; one nephew, Louis Jay Miller; great niece, Bailey Miller; and great nephew, Lee Miller.
