Get Fit Exercise Class holds luncheon, pays tribute to late instructor

Members of the Get Fit Exercise Class sponsored by the Acadia Council on Aging met at Chef Roy’s Frog City Café in Rayne for their annual Christmas luncheon and to pay tribute to their late instructor Margie Abshire on Friday, Dec. 11. Abshire, who passed away on Dec. 4, led the group for approximately 20 years. Attending were, seated from left, Sarah Bercier, Sharon Constanin, Lynn Lafleur, Lou Duhon, Dixie Leleux, Norma Courts, Myrna Cashi, Chelsea Bernard; standing, Pat Smith, Lettie Martin, Lula Sanderford, Louise Henry, Sylvia Dischler, Betty Faulk, Peggy Sandidge, Millie Comeaux and Fedella Green. Also present but not pictured were Margaret Young and Claire Beslin. The exercise program will continue to be offered by the Acadia Council on Aging and is open to women 60 years of age and older.
