Sheryl A. Davis
A wonderful caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, Sheryl A. Davis, will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. and the Home Going Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at Northside Assembly of God in Crowley.
Burial will be in the South Crowley Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Bishop Brian Minix.
Sheryl, a native of Crowley, “entered into eternal rest” on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at 6:11 p.m. at Camelot Nursing Home in Crowley.
Sheryl was baptized at an early age at St. Theresa Catholic Church and made her First Communion and Confirmation.
She attended Ross Elementary School and then Ross High School, where she graduated in 1970. She went to work for Crowley Manufacturing for many years. Thereafter, she went on to work for the State of Louisiana until she became a homemaker in 1984.
She leaves to cherish wonderful memories her two daughters, Shelonda (Samuel) Davis of Crowley and Carlette R. Davis of New Orleans; two sons, Jamson (Krystal) Davis of Crowley and James Davis of Opelousas; six granddaughters, Ebony Davis, Mary (Colby) Broussard, Dominique Broussard and Shaina Leblanc, all of Crowley, My’Angel Davis and Amber Davis; four grandsons, Tro’Mone (Tynequa) Davis and Samuel Drake III of Crowley, Juan Davis and Tyrese Davis; a sister, Casandra M. Davis of Baton Rouge; a brother, Douglas (Patricia) Davis Sr. of Fultondale, Alabama; seven great-grandkids, La’Mya Clement, Jordi Augustus, Jayden Davis, Ja’Ryiah Andrus, Jer’Mynee Andrus, Chloe Washington and Tristan Davis, all of Crowley; a cousin who was raised with them like a brother, Ernest “Marcel” Guidry of Victorville, California; an aunt, Gladys Ceasar of Crowley; an uncle, Arthur Davis Sr. of Crowley; and a host of family and friends.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Davis Sr. and Odile Carrier Davis; two brothers, Howard Davis Jr. and Wayne Davis; one sister, Brenda Davis Batiste; maternal grandparents, Ernestine Boudreaux and John Carrier; paternal grandparents, Eva Davis and John Davis; nieces, Felicia R. Batiste and Jacqunette Davis; nephews, Juan J. Davis and Donovan Davis; and a great-niece, Marley Batiste.
