Neline Horton Bernard

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Neline Horton Bernard, 87, who died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, in Crowley.
Deacon Phil Lazotte will celebrate the funeral services and the burial will follow in the Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Visitation may be observed on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services. The Rosary will be led by the Pink Ladies at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Neline will be forever remembered for her positive attitude towards life, her love of family and friends and her never ending smile.
Mrs. Neline was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church. She retired from the American Legion Hospital after 30 years as an X-ray technician. She volunteered with the Pink Ladies for 25 years.
She is survived by two daughters Linda Lewis Gaspard and husband Kenneth of Baton Rouge, and Ruth Lewis Lyerly and husband Steve of Bradenton, Florida; eight grandchildren, Billy, Brad and Scott Gaspard, Robin Vaughn, Beau and Josh Peurifoy and Jack Lyerly; and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Mattie Gibbs Horton; her husband, Ned Bernard; five sisters, Hazel Manning, Louise Collins, Helga Hughes, Pauline Johnson and Mildred Wood; five brothers, Ramsey, Cecil, Jack, Billy and John Horton; and one grandson, Todd Peurifoy.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Gina, Tina, Cindy and Geri for their loving care and support.
