Florence Diorio “Dolly” Angel

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Florence Diorio “Dolly” Angel, 88, who died May 20, 2016, at Southwind Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seaton Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Dolly was born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1927. She moved to Florida in 1953 and worked as the head accountant at Florida Schoolbook Depository in Jacksonville, Florida, until her retirement. In 2003, she moved to Crowley and volunteered at Ms. Helen Soup Kitchen, Crowley Christian Care and was a Pink Lady at Acadia General Hospital.
She is survived by one daughter, Patti A. Brammer and her husband, Chris of Crowley; one son, James Leon Angel of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Tiffany Hodge Fincher of Albemarly, North Carolina, and Brandi N. Brammer of Nashville, Tennessee; and six great-grandchildren, Zach, Aaron, and Caleb Washington, and Adam, Amber and Jacob Angel.
Dolly is preceded in death by her husband, Leon James Angel; her parents, Joseph and Santina Di’Thomaso Diorio; seven siblings; and one grandson, Joshua Angel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, The Alzheimer’s Association, and/or Hospice of Acadiana.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially her nurse, Sandra Kibodeaux.
