Jeanette Elizabeth Hornsby

Roberts Cove - A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanette Elizabeth Ardoin Hornsby, 61, of Kinder, will be celebrated on Thursday, June 30, at 2 p.m. in St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove.
Serving as celebrant is Very Reverend Monsignor Jefferson DeBlanc. Interment will follow in St. Leo IV Catholic Cemetery in Roberts Cove.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Hornsby passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016, at 1:38 a.m. in her daughter’s Scott residence.
A native of Kinder, Mrs. Hornsby was a member of the Catholic faith. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from University of Southwest Louisiana (now University of Louisiana - Lafayette). She taught school in Allen Parish and was also a dance instructor.
Mrs. Hornsby was most recently an administrative assistance with the Coushatta Tribal Police. She enjoyed horses, spending time with her cat, and caring for her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Blasia Hornsby of Kinder, Magen Hornsby of Scott, and Blair Hornsby Comeaux and husband Brandon of Scott.
Preceding Mrs. Hornsby in death were her husband, Anthony John Hornsby; parents, Roman and Beatrice Manuel Ardoin; and brother, Harry Dean Ardoin.
