Annie Joyce LaSalle Dupont
A Mass of Christian Burial for Annie Joyce LaSalle Dupont, 73, of Rayne was celebrated on Saturday, July 2, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne.
Father Samuel Fontana, associate pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, served as celebrant.
Interment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 1, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visitation continued on Saturday, July 2, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
Mrs. Dupont passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 12:08 p.m. at her Rayne residence.
A native of Kaplan and longtime resident of Rayne, Mrs. Dupont was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved to listen and dance to French music, eat boiled crawfish and crabs, cook for her family and friends, play Bourre’, and eat Blue Bell strawberry ice cream. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with and caring for her family.
Survivors include her sons, Farrell Dupont and wife Pamela of Crowley, and Blaine Dupont and wife Karen of Rayne; daughter, Becky Boudreaux and husband John Sr. of Rayne; brothers, Clifton LaSalle and wife Sable of Kaplan, Norris LaSalle of Kaplan, Donald LaSalle and wife Charlene of Kaplan, Ronald LaSalle of New Iberia, Rodney LaSalle and wife Mildred of Kaplan, Ray LaSalle of Kaplan, and Harry LaSalle of Mire; sisters, Mary Anne Abshire and husband Edward of Kaplan, Delories Doucet of Rayne, Geneva Bodin and husband Wade of Delcambre, and Barbara Deshotel and husband Timmy of Jennings; sister-in-law, Lucille LaSalle of Jennings; brother-in-law, Joseph Schexnayder of Kaplan; grandchildren, Brandt Broussard and wife Krisinda of Church Point, John Boudreaux Jr. and wife Sarah of Rayne, Brittany Boudreaux and fiancé Alex Bourque of Lafayette, Ashley Dupont and companion Joelle Cormier of Rayne, Dylan Dupont and wife Amber of Indian Bayou, Brett Dupont of Rayne, and Brandon Dupont of Crowley; and great-grandchildren, Braxton Boudreaux, Emma Dupont, Ella Boudreaux, and Holden Boudreaux. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mrs. Dupont in death were her husband of 50 years, Earl Joseph Dupont; parents, Gordy and Eunice Faulk LaSalle; brothers, Joe LaSalle and Lurcy LaSalle; and sister, Dorothy Schexnayder.
Serving as pallbearers were Mrs. Dupont’s grandchildren.
