Albert “Butch” Schexnider

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at Northside Assembly of God Church for Albert “Butch” Schexnider, 68, who died Sunday Oct. 6, 2013, at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a dedicated oilfield supervisor and in his spare time enjoyed fishing and playing with his little dog, Gemma, and cat, Bray. 

Rev. Gerard Morgan, associate pastor of Northside Assembly of God, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. Burial will be in North Hanks Cemetery.  

“Butch” is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mollie Smith Schexnider of Crowley; one daughter, Heather D. Ruppert and husband Brock of Crowley; two sons, Kirk and Brandon Schexnider, both of Crowley; two granddaughters, Saren Stelly and Kennedi Stelly, both of Crowley; and one sister, Florine Thibodeaux of Rayne.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Nugia Schexnider and Mable Schexnider Trahan; his step-father, Elridge Trahan; and one grandson, Jaden Stelly.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Schexnider, Brandon Schexnider, Brock Ruppert, Joe Kebodeaux, Marcus Thibodeaux and Lance Labbie. Honorary pallbearer will be Ryan Thibodeaux.
