Allan Norbert Habetz Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Allan Norbert Habetz, Sr., 63, who died August 2, 2016 in Florida.
Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley. A rosary will be led by Deacon Dan Didier at 7 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in St. Leo Mausoleum.
Al was born in 1952 in Crowley, he graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School in 1970, and from L.S.U. with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 1974. One of the things he cherished was aviation, he began flying at the age of 16 and professionally 15 years ago. He was dedicated to the Boy Scouts and Civil Air Patrol for many years. Al loved the most spending time with his grandchildren. He was not only a top notch pilot but also a joyous man with an infectious laugh that could be heard across a room.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gwendolyn Truax Habetz of Egan; one daughter, Ann Habetz Van Wagener and her husband, Michael of Houston, TX; two sons, Allan Norbert Habetz, Jr. and his wife, Allison of Carencro, and Aaron Boyd Habetz of Egan; two brothers, Edmond Habetz and his wife, Cheryl of Crowley, and Kenny Habetz, Sr. and his wife, Penny of Crowley; four grandchildren, John Habetz, Owen Habetz, Olivia Van Wagener, and Henry Van Wagener; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Bigelow Habetz of Crowley.
Allan is preceded in death by his parents, H.L. and Mary Cramer Habetz, Jr.; and two brothers, Leonard Jerome “Jack” Habetz, and Donald Bernard Habetz and his wife, Pat.
Pallbearers will be Allan Habetz, Jr., Aaron Habetz, Ed Habetz, Kenny Habetz, Sr., Shawn Habetz, and Michael Van Wagener.
