She was born in Opelousas and was a lifelong resident of the Iota community. Anyone that ever was lucky enough to meet Mrs. Barbara knew of her kindness, beauty and faith. She worked for many years as a teacher at Iota High School and taught many of us how to type. After retiring from Iota High, she went to work with her husband at Foret Furniture. She was a member of the Iota First United Methodist Church.

Barbara was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her LSU Tigers and made many memories cheering them on in Death Valley, at Alex Box Stadium and in her own living room. More than anything, she loved her precious husband Warren that left her side in January 2001. As we celebrate her life and shed tears in our grief we rejoice in knowing that they are together again in heaven.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Foret Rose and husband Marion of Iota; two grandsons, Benjy Rose and wife Kathie of Lake Charles and David Rose and wife Melanie of Iota; four great-grandsons, Austin Rose, Griffin Rose, William Rose and John David Rose; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Courville; cousins, Herbert Brown of Clearwater, Florida, Vera Ruth Gilmore of Opelousas, R.P. Walker of Lafayette and Herbert Walker of Opelousas; and her faithful and loving companion, Mrs. Clotilde Vallier.

Mrs. Foret was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Foret; her parents, Ed and Velma Walker Milner; and her great-granddaughter, Avery Rose.

Pallbearers will be Marion Rose, Benjy Rose, David Rose, William Rose, Austin Rose and Griffin Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be John David Rose and Taylor Courville.
