Bernice Sonnier

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire for Bernice Sonnier, 84, who passed away at Lafayette General Medical Center on Saturday, December 13, 2014.
Interment was in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Mire.
Survivors are her two daughters, Nadine Breaux and husband, Pat, of Mire, and Dawn Brown and husband, Stan, of Lafayette; one son, Burton Sonnier Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Mire; sister, Ada Clanton of Mire; four grandsons; three granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; and two great-grand sons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton  Sonnier Sr.; father, Arthur Ernest Jennings; mother, Ruth Evelyn Rivers; one son, George Lee Sonnier; two brothers, George Jennings, and Donald  Jennings; her sister, Ruth Jennings; and one granddaughter, Katherine Fusilier.
Friends were received  at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, Monday, December 15, 2014,  from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 16, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A Rosary was recited on Monday, December 15, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
