Charline Manley

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Charline Manley, 82, of Crowley will be held on Monday, July 28, at 3 p.m. in Parkerson Avenue Baptist Church. Brother Chris Campo will officiate. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27, from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Parkerson Avenue Baptist Church, and will continue on Monday from 8 a.m. until service time in the church.

Mrs. Manley passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 1 a.m. in her Crowley residence.

A native of Grenada County, Mississippi, Mrs. Manley was a longtime resident of Crowley. She was a faithful member of Parkerson Avenue Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir. Mrs. Manley, along with her late husband, Leslie, were instrumental in planting the Rice City Mission in Crowley.

Mrs. Manley was a teachers’ aide at Crowley Middle School and Crowley Kindergarten for many years. She also sold Avon, and she enjoyed reading and painting. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with and caring for her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Majors and husband, James, of Pineville, Judy Travis and husband, Jack, of Baton Rouge, Patsy Signorelli and husband, Patrick, of Crowley and Beth Browning and husband, Darren, of Watson; son, Wayne Manley of Casper, Wyoming; sister, Erma Cox of Pearl, Mississippi; grandchildren, Ashley Majors Stewart and husband, Ben, of Pineville, John Majors and wife, LaNaya, of Pineville, Billie Wheeler Wray and husband, Cody, of New Orleans, Christy Wheeler Kanicki and husband, John, of Jacksonville, Florida, Cheryl Dubois and husband, Justin, of Deville, Karen Lightfoot and husband, Kris, of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Brooke Signorelli of Crowley, Jarred Manley and fiancé, Lauren Fontenot, of Crowley, and Caleb Browning, Joshua Browning and Leslie Grace Browning, all of Watson; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Presley and Eva Wray, Gabriel, Abigail and Michael Majors, Archer Stewart and Katelyn Dubois. 

Preceding Mrs. Manley in death were her husband of 57 years, Leslie Manley; and parents, O.M. and Flora Irene Ashmore Holland.

Serving as pallbearers are John Majors, Jarred Manley, James Majors, Jack Travis, Patrick Signorelli and Darren Browning.
