Dean G. Matte

Our hearts are heavy as we lost a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Dean G. Matte, on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, in Pasadena, Texas, at the age of 75.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Father David Hebert, celebrant.
Dean was a native of Lyons Point and a resident of Pasadena. She loved quilting, but most of all, she loved her family and grandkids. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her especially her two sons, Jeffery Matte and wife Nicole and Mark Matte, all of Pasadena; four daughters, Therese Seilhan and husband Kevin of Basile, Annette Tadlock and husband Paul of Pasadena, Sarah Hatcher and husband Terry of Norton, Ohio, and Alice Christine Matte of Pasadena; one brother, Olden Guillot of Morse; two sisters, Bernice Young of Basile and Etheline Abshire of Crowley; the 14 joys of her life, her grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Matte; her parents, Louis and Alice Guillot; a brother, Nolan Guillot; and a sister, Dorothy Simon.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, Dec. 4, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 8 a.m. until time of services. Father David Hebert will recite a Rosary at 6 p.m. Friday evening.
