Delta Broussard Abshire

Funeral services for Delta Broussard Abshire, 72, of Crowley will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Reverend Jimmy Broussard will officiate. Interment will follow in Abshire Cemetery, Kaplan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 9 a.m. until service time in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne.
Mrs. Abshire passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 9:50 p.m. in a Crowley health care facility.
A native of Kaplan, Mrs. Abshire had lived in Crowley for many years. She loved caring for her family, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Gardy Abshire of Crowley; daughters, Lucille Dartez of Crowley, and Melina Robinson and husband, Kevin of Maxie; sons, Oneil Dartez of Baton Rouge, Wade Dartez and wife, Romona of Crowley, and Floyd Upmeyer of Alexandria; sisters, Thelma Simon of Kaplan, and Mary Nell Broussard of Kaplan; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Abshire in death were her parents, Oneil and Lillian Broussard; sisters, Vivian Day and Sedia Hollier; and brother, Horace Broussard.
