Donald Van “Donnie” Dronet, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Donald Van “Donnie” Dronet, Sr., 76, who died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. 

Deacon Rodless Leleux will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gueydan Cemetery. 

Mr. “Donnie” is survived by his wife, Joyce Benoit Dronet of Maurice; two daughters, Donna D. Raskin and her husband Ben of Kansas City, MO, Mary “Jo Jo” Dronet of Albuquerque, NM; one son, “Scooter” Dronet and his wife Kristy of Youngsville; three grandchildren, Chase, Zack and Kallie Dronet; one step-daughter, Kathy Richard and her husband Eric of Gueydan; one sister, Vernita D. Gary of Gueydan. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Badon Dronet; his parents, Ervia and Annabelle Guidry Dronet.
