Dorothy Mae Johnson
RAYNE –– Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Church for Dorothy Mae Johnson, 82, who died Friday, February 26, 2016, at her home.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 7 a.m. until time of services at Syrie Funeral Home of Lafayette. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m.
Services will be conducted by Father Richard Wagner, S.S.J.
Interment will be in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Grady (Cynthia) Johnson, of Houston, Texas, and Harold Johnson of Rayne, La.; a daughter, Rockela (Eddie) Johnson; two brothers, Joseph (Erma) Martin of Beaumont, Texas, and Gilbert (Sylvia) Martin of Alexandria, La.; one sister, Levoria Rochon of Rayne, La.; a life-long friend, Beulah (Red Gal) Spencert of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law, Lucille Pierre of Beaumont, Texas; two boys she reared as her sons, Tony Pabum of Houston, Texas, and Larry Malbrough of Church Point, La.; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Josephine Martin; her husband, Thomas Johnson; three sons, John, Kenneth and Rocky Johnson; three brothers, Leroy, Hubert and Wilbert Martin; and a sister, Bernadine Julian.
