Elrena V. Benoit

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Elrena V. Benoit, 86, who passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, surrounded by her family at Encore Healthcare and Rehabilitation at 8:33 in the morning.
Brother Gerard Morgan, associate pastor of Northside Assembly of God Church, will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the Old Crowley Cemetery.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 8 a.m. until time of services all in the funeral home chapel in Crowley.
Survivors include seven daughters, Joann Perkins of Rayne, Christine and husband Johnny Perrodin of Roberts Cove, Judy and husband Terry Broussard of Crowley, Brenda and husband Kennith Clostio of Abbeville, Edna Benoit of Crowley, Charlotte and husband Jimmy Louviere of Crowley, and Kitty and husband Troy Deshotel of Crowley; two sons, Lawrence Earl Jr. and wife Loretta Benoit of Jennings, and David Benoit of Jennings; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Benoit of Abbeville; five sisters, Jean McCoy of Elton, Mary Granger of Moss Bluff, Verna Hargrave of Beaumont, Texas, Wana Breaux of Indiana, and Laurice Hulin of Midland; 34 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Ms. Elrena was preceded in death of her husband, Lawrence E. Benoit Sr.; one son, Bert Patrick Benoit; her parents, Ulysee and Edna Vincent; four brothers, Clovis, Minus, Dewey and Simar Vincent; four sisters, Elia Thibodeaux, Kelly Landry, Pearly Vincent and Nolee Suire; three grandchildren, Shannon Perrodin, Lisa Benoit and Lance Benoit; and one great-grandson, Baby Bert.
