Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Funeral home visitation was from 4p.m. until 9 p.m., Saturday; and 11 a.m. until time of services Sunday.
Mrs. Duhon died at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, in the Cornerstone Village South Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Mrs. Duhon was a native of Crowley, a resident of Jennings nine years moving here from Broussard. She was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church. Lil learned that her name on her birth certificate was Eula Lee Foreman when she received her Social Security card prior to her first job at Morgan & Linsey in Crowley. Everyone knew her as Lil and most did not know her birth certificate name. Her given name by her parents was Lil, but the midwife must have given the birth certificate name. Lil worked as a secretary for L & M Construction, Linscombe Construction, and Jennings Guest House. She became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 1970, which is the first year that administrators were licensed in Louisiana. She served as assistant administrator with the Jennings Guest House and served as the Nursing Home Administrator for Crowley Town & Country, St. Martinville Nursing Home, D ‘Ville House in Donaldsonville, Cornerstone Village North and Courtyard Manor in Lafayette. She retired at age 75.
Lil was known as an excellent nursing home administrator with a very loving and caring spirit. She touched so many lives of residents, families, and staff members throughout her years of service. She always considered others before herself and exhibited a very giving spirit. She was loved, gave love to so many, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Duhon Romero and Sharon Duhon Romerom, both of Jennings; one sister, Helen Foreman Faulk of Lake Charles; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Duhon is preceded in death by her parents, Gerard James Jarrow and Anna Meaux Foreman; her husband, Rodley Pierre Duhon; sisters, Velma Linscombe, Pearl Hoffpauir and Ruth Spell; and two brothers, Arthur and Huey Foreman.
