Gladys Navarre Freeman

Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm for Gladys Marie Navarre Freeman , 79 who died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:45 pm in a Lafayette hospital. Father Kendal Faulk will officiate.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.

Mrs. Freeman was a longtime resident of Rayne, where she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing and playing cards, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Russell Freeman, Jr. and wife, Cindy, John David Freeman, Cecil Freeman, Sr. and wife, Melissa, and Ronald Freeman, all of Rayne; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Freeman in death were her husband, of 52 years, Russell W. Freeman, Sr.; parents, John and Elizabeth Navarre Schexnayder; sisters, Louana Murphy, Lilly Mae St. Amand, Rose Godeaux, Hazel Navarre, and Mildred Godeaux; and brothers, Dewey Navarre, Weday Navarre, Allen Navarre, Wallace Navarre, Emerson Navarre, and James Navarre.

Serving as pallbearers are Cecil Freeman, Sr., Cecil Freeman, Jr., Derrick Freeman, David Freeman, Russell Freeman, III, Frank Freeman, and Brandon Kershaw.
