Grace McClelland Quebodeaux
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Egan for Grace McClelland Quebodeaux, 86, who died Monday, April 6, 2015, at 2 a.m. in Evangeline surrounded by her loving family.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Iota, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
Burial will be in Sensat Cemetery.
Mrs. Quebodeaux is survived by three daughters, Doris Q. Broussard of Egan, Brenda Q. Istre and husband Wayne of Crowley and Catherine Q. Busby and fiancé J.J. Aplin of Carthage, Texas; three sons, Dennis Quebodeaux Sr. and fiancée Theresa of Egan, David Quebodeaux and wife Arlene of Evangeline and Claude Dale Quebodeaux and wife Jennifer of Pineville; one daughter-in-law, Gloria P. Quebodeaux of Many; three brothers, Woodrow McClelland of Abilene, Texas and Henry and Joseph McClelland, both of Mississippi; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude “Coon” Quebodeaux; two sons, Sylvester Joseph “Joe” Quebodeaux and James Quebodeaux; her parents, Sylvester and Bernadette Sonnier McClelland; three grandsons, Chad Broussard, Timothy Quebodeaux and Jason Quebodeaux; three sisters, Mary Louise D’Antoni, Henrietta Gonzales and Viola Perkins; and one brother, James McClelland.
Pallbearers will be Greg Broussard, Scott Quebodeaux, Dennis Quebodeaux Jr., Duane Clark, Nick Quebodeaux, Doug Quebodeaux and James Quebodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Quebodeaux, Angela Broussard, Rachel Corzine, Tammy Newman, Andrea Younger, Tricia Quebodeaux, Stacy Primeaux, Marshal Hicks and Josh Hicks.
The family would like to thank Family Choice Hospice, especially Sheryl Trahan, Damon Scott, Kristan Istre and Leah Lomenick for their compassionate care of Mrs. Quebodeaux these last few weeks.
