Gwen Milner LaCombe
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Gwen Milner LaCombe, 69, who died at 10:47 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at her residence in Iota.
Fr. Jude Thierry will celebrate the Mass and the burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Friday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. LaCombe was born Jan. 30, 1945, to the late Ray and Vivia Fruge Milner. She worked many years at Miller’s Family Pharmacy. She was an active member of the Mardi Gras Festival Association and the Acadia Parish Tourist Commission.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John LaCombe Jr.; three sons, Douglas Keith LaCombe and wife Lynette of Iota, Brian Colby LaCombe and wife Lane of Carencro and Tray Anthony LaCombe and wife Dana of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Beau and Amber Doucet, Blanche and Gabe Hensgens, Aaron LaCombe and fiancé Jena Richard, McKenzie, Olivia, Ezra and Edyn LaCombe, Kennedy and Kiera LaCombe; and great-grandchildren, Landon, Mason, Kaleigh, Kinslee and Sawyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Duane Ray LaCombe and Joseph Paul LaCombe; a sister, Ione Lejeune; and a grandchild, Desiree LaCombe.
Pallbearers will be her three sons Douglas, Brian and Tray LaCombe, Beau Doucet, Gabe Hensgens and Aaron LaCombe.
