Gwendyl Mona Trahan Oliver

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at St. Michael Chapel in Egan for Gwendyl Mona Trahan Oliver, 81, who died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at her home in Egan. 

Fr. David Broussard will officiate for the services.  The family requests visitation to be Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota.  A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday.  Interment will be in Sensat Cemetery. 

Mrs. Oliver was a member of the St. Michael Ladies Altar Society, St. Martha’s Guild, and a pink lady at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.

She is survived by her husband, Shirley Lee Oliver of Egan; three daughters, Shirlene Oliver Cannata and her husband Richard from Glen Cove, NY, Julie Oliver White and her husband Keith from Ft. Worth, Texas, and Michelle Oliver D’Orio and her husband John from Islip, N.Y.; two sons, John Oliver and his wife Pamela of Lafayette, and David Oliver and his wife Nannette of Lafayette; two sisters, Arlene Hill, and Alice Sailor; five brothers, Louis Trahan, Jr., Melvin Trahan, Jerold Trahan, Wardell Trahan, and Murriel Trahan; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. 

Mrs. Oliver is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Alicia Conner Trahan; four brothers, Raymond, Henry, Harry and Richard Trahan; and two sisters, Eloise Freyou, and Florence Manuel.
