Henrietta L. “Putt” Habetz

Crowley, LA

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at St.

Leo Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Henrietta L. “Putt” Habetz, 63, who died

December 10, 2014 at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.

Fr. Paul Broussard, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church will be officiating for the

services.  The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Thursday from 5 p.m.

to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Deacon Dan Didier will lead a

rosary at 6 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in St. Leo Mausoleum.

“Putt” was a longtime resident of Crowley she graduated from Notre Dame High

School and attended McNeese State University.  She started working in the

nursery at American Legion Hospital followed by many years of service at the

Acadia Parish Health Unit.  Many knew her from the WIC program where she

touched generations of families.  “Putt” never met a stranger and everyone loved

her.

She is survived by her longtime friend and companion Howard Eddie Clark of

Crowley; four sisters, Alberta Barlow of Jacksonville, FL, Lucille Borne and her

husband, Norman of Baton Rouge; Claire Habetz of Houston, TX, and Pauline

Habetz of Houston, TX; three brothers, Alphonse Habetz, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn,

Charlie Habetz and his wife, Kay, and Ralph Habetz all of Roberts Cove; numerous

nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-

niece and great-great-nephews.

“Putt” is preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Frances Meyer Habetz,

Sr.; two sisters, Frances “Fran” Habetz, and Catherine O’Connor; and one brother,

Henry Habetz.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame High

School, St. Jude Hospital, and/or March of Dimes.

The family would like to thank the Acadia General Hospital I.C.U. staff, Dr. Robert

Aertker, and Dr. Nancy Walker for their compassionate care.
