John Daniel “J.D.” Bertrand

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church of Iota for John Daniel “J.D.” Bertrand, 88, who died at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Jennings, La at the Louisiana War veterans Home.

Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor, will celebrate the Mass and the Committal services at the Saint Joseph Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Friday.

He is survived by three sons John Daniel Bertrand, Jr. and his wife Wanda of Iowa, La, James Quillan Bertrand and his wife Tonia of Iota, La, and Joseph Lionel Bertrand of Iota, La; six grandchildren Francine Guidry, Wayne Bertrand, Justin Bertrand, Caitlin Bertrand, Kendall Broussard and Jay Miller; six great-grandchildren Casey Bertrand, Kassie Bertrand, Patrick Donellan, Daniel Bertrand, Liam Bertrand and Amelie Broussard.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lecuse and Laura Lejeune Bertrand; his wife Amy Amelia Frey Bertrand and two sisters Lou Alice Miller and Frances deVillentroy.
