“Poppa” loved to fish and hunt. His granddaughter, Bailee Rae, was his world. He loved helping people and donating to those in need. Not a day went by that he wasn’t working in his garden. He loved the Lord and he loved to read. He was a part of the agricultural community in Vermilion Parish, having worked as a rice and soybean farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Etta Gautreaux Villejoin of Crowley; his two children, Laurie Anne Villejoin of Crowley and Shawn David Villejoin (Kimberly) of Crowley; and one granddaughter, Bailee Rae Villejoin of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his father Odea Villejoin and his mother, Solange Lognon Villejoin; two brothers, Alton Villejoin and Nelson Villejoin; and a sister, Dorothy Mae Villejoin Monte
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry Benoit, Issac Fils, Shawn Villejoin, Laurie Villejoin, Mikal Hebert and John Breaux. Bailee Villejoin will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The Villejoin family would like to express sincere thanks to the Acadian Ambulance paramedics, the staff at Acadia General Hospital and Duhon Funeral Home for the care they provided during his final day.
