John E. Gay

 Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 18, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for John E. Gay, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at 3:14 p.m. at Southwind Nursing and Rehab Center in Crowley.

Rev. Joseph Vincent, pastor of the Sanctuary Worship Church in Rayne, will be officiating for the services.  Burial will be in Ky Hebert Cemetery in Roberts Cove.

The family has requested the visitation to be held on Thursday, July 17, at 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. then 8 a.m. until time of services on Friday, July 18, all in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.

Survivors include, two daughters, Melanie Gaye of Lafayette and Tammy and husband Tom Gardiner of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Heather Morgan of Lafayette and Hannah and Emily Gardiner,  both of Baton Rouge; one great-grandson, Owsley Wood of Lafayette; one brother, Robert Gay of Jennings; two step-daughters, Sandra and husband Raymond Kibodeaux and Linda Hartley, both of Roberts Cove; two step-sons Roy and wife Julie Smith of Roberts Cove, and David and wife, Amanda Smith, of Hicks; nine step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his parents, Armond and Alberta G. Gay; two brothers, Wellington “Dee” Decker and Henry Gay; and one sister, Zena Gay.
