John Franklin Barrett

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Parkerson Baptist Church in Crowley for John Franklin Barrett, 76. Rev. Christopher Campo will officiate.

John Barrett passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at 4:04 p.m. He was born Oct. 8, 1938, in Daisetta, Texas, to the late Bratcher J. Barrett and the late Ruth Cutler.

John Franklin Barrett graduated from Crowley High School in 1957. He attended USL and the University of Houston to become a concert pianist and organist. He was a hairstylist, serving Crowley residents for 50 years at his business, “La Jolie Coiffeur;” worked at Hair Unlimited for five years and at Southwind Nursing Home and Assisted Living for nine years until death.

He was organist at First Baptist Church for 20 years and for 14 years at Parkerson Avenue Baptist Church in Crowley.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Aguillard Barrett; daughters, Tiffany Ann Barrett Broussard and husband Whitney Broussard Jr. of Youngsville and Trisha Lynn Barrett Albert and husband James Luke Albert of New Iberia; five grandchildren, Jonathan Luke Broussard, Dane Michael Broussard, Matthew James Pearson, Bryce Alexander Pearson and Brianna Nevaeh  Pearson; three step-grandchildren, Bailey James Albert, Karlie  Michelle Albert and Rylee Alizabeth Albert; one brother, Clarence Ray “Bubba” Barrett of Spring (Houston), Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bratcher J. Barrett from Liberty, Texas; and his mother, Ruther Cutler Barrett from Cole, Illinois.
