John Kenneth Matte died on Friday, May 30, 2014, at American Legion Hospital after a short illness.
Ken was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on April 14, 1935, to Roland and Amy Higginbotham Matte. He lived in Crowley for many years. Ken served his country as a member of the Texas National Guard.
He is survived by his sister, Clorita Ladner of Katy, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harvey J. and AJ Matte.
In the interest of training new physicians, Ken donated his body to LSU Medical School.
The family would like to thank his friends and neighbors, Eula Hoffpauir and Gery Oliver, for their kindness and friendship.
