A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 1 p.m. at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Estherwood for Joseph Winford Guillory, 81, who died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at 3:35 a.m. at Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Mr. Guillory was a native of Estherwood, longtime resident of Lake Charles and a resident of Lafayette at the time of his death. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after over 20 years of service.
Msgr. Paul Metrejean will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Monday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Guillory is survived by one daughter, Charlotte G. Sigue and her husband Tim of Lafayette; one son, Darrell Guillory and his wife Teddi of Lake Charles; three brothers, Willis Guillory Jr. of Mermentau, Herbert Guillory of Morse and James Guillory of Sulphur; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Fontenot Guillory; one daughter, Gloria Istre; one grandson, Paul Edward Lee; one sister, Lena Rose Simon; and one brother, Lawrence Broussard.
