Funeral service for Lillian C. Yokum will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. at Israelite Baptist Church. Visitation will be 8 a.m. until time of service.
Lillian C. Yokum was born to the late Louella Gums and Earnest Carrey on Jan. 23, 1942, in Abbeville and raised by her stepfather Felix Pete Sr. On Jan. 4, 2014, God saw fit to take his servant to her eternal home.
She lives to cherish her memories her children, Freddie A. Yokum, Leonard J. Guillory (Rosetta), Freda G. Monroe (Arthur), Jesslyn A. Guillory (Vincent), Joseph L. Yokum (Kim) and Wesly J. Yokum (Dee); two sisters, Lena P. Ceaser and Cecil Pete; four brothers, Felix Pete Jr. (Rockill), Doyle Pete (Debra), Leonard Pete Sr. (Antonette) and Houston Pete (Joy); a loving brother-in-law, Wesly Yokum Sr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and great friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Louella Faye Yokum; a grandson, Shemar L. Yokum; a sister, Théresa Thorns; and her loving husband, Freddie F. Yokum.
