Mable Guidry Boudreaux


Crowley –– A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic church for Mable Guidry Boudreaux, 95, who died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2013 at Southwind Nursing Home.
Fr. Mark Miley, associate pastor of Saint Michael’s celebrated the Mass and the Committal services at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation was observed on Monday, December 16, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A Rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Mable was born January 30, 1918, in Crowley to the late Jack and Leona Guidry Trahan. She was a lifetime member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Miller for many years. After her retirement she enjoyed doing ceramics and loved to travel. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Katie Thevis and her husband, Philip, of Mowata; a son Glenn Guidry and his wife, Barbara, of New Iberia; five grandchildren, Christy Mitchell and her husband, Cameron, of Baton Rouge, Tracey Cooley and her husband, Jim, of Austin, TX, Paul Thevis and his wife, Angie, of Crowley, Scott Thevis and his wife, Crystal, of Crowley and Kim Hoffpauir and her husband, Zachary, of Roberts Cove; seven great-grandchildren Alyssa and Bryant Thevis, Brooklyn, Bailey and Blakely Thevis, Hunter and Mia Hoffpauir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Leona Guidry Trahan; first husband. Ozer Guidry; second husband, Elmo Boudreaux; two sisters, Eula Vincent and Katie Thibodeaux; and two brothers, Bill and Wallace Trahan.
The family would like to thank Dr. Katira and the staff of Southwind Assisted Living and Southwind Nursing Home for their loving care.
