Margaret Ann Charlot

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Baptist Church for Margaret Ann Charlot, 70, who was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015.
Interment will be in West Crowley Cemetery.
Margaret was born Sept. 9, 1945, the 10th child born to the late Beatrice and Isaac Thorns Sr.
Margaret was a 1964 graduate of H.C. Ross High School. In 1971 she was employed with Acadia Parish School Board, working 18 years as a teacher’s assistant at Ross Elementary School. In 1989 she retired and became her own boss.
Margaret was an active member of St. Joseph Baptist Church where she was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. George Guillory. She was always ready to do whatever was asked of her. She was always willing to help someone out, whether it was giving rides or telling them of places they could go for help with things. She knew everybody in Crowley and everybody knew Margaret.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memories six sisters, Mary L. George of Beaumont, Texas, Elnora Brouchet of Pacoma, California, Meredith Dees of Los Angeles, California, Patsy Thorns of Crowley, Ruth Hawkins of Crowley and Bennie Jenkins of Mermentau; two brothers, Isaac Thorns Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Willie Thorns of Palm Dale, California; a special friend, Nelson Arceneaux; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret will surely be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Isaac Thorns Sr.; one sister, Winnie Fair; one brother, Clemon Thorns; and two nephews, Nathaniel Thorns and Daniel Tezeno Jr.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 16, at St. Joseph Baptist Church from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and continue Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
