Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church for Melba Mae Sam Thompson, 57, who died Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Arbors Nursing Home in Dayton, Ohio.

Father Imoru Godwin will officiate for the services. Burial will be in the South Crowley Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Survivors include her loving husband, Michael Thompson Sr.; two children, Michael Jr. and Charlot; one grandson, Kamren; and one granddaughter, Baby Kayla (unborn at the time of death), all of Dayton; seven sisters, Jeanette A. Sam of Houston, Texas, Claudette A. Sam of Port Arthur, Texas, Dianne Stokes and Mary Hope Jones, both of Peoria, Ill., and Linda (Earl) Price, Christina (Leo) Harmon and Gearldette Rogers, all of Crowley; five brothers, James Aaron Jr. (Janelle) Sam of Tacoma, Wash., Michael R. (Rozetta) Sam and John Patrick Sam, both of Killeen, Texas, Fredrick Sam of Lafayette and Gerard N. Sam of Crowley; a mother-in-law, Ms. Agnes Robinson and family; two godchildren, Pandora Martin Robinson and Larem Fisher; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, James Aaron Sr. and Lena Bell Sam; and one brother, Glen Marshall Sam.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilturner Funeral Home.
