RAYNE –– Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Starlight Baptist Church here for Mercedes G. White, 87, who died January 7, 2016, at her residence.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Starlight Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Nathan Stevenson.
Interment will follow in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Lorena Jerry of Port Arthur, Texas; Judith White of Rayne, Glenn (Carolyn) White of Rayne, Mercedes Grace of Rayne, Jernetha (Coley) Perkins of Lafayette, Jill White of Rayne, Ava White of Baton Rouge, Jude White of Rayne, Warrick White of Rayne, Chandra (John) Landry, a special granddaughter, of Lafayette; one sister, Mary Etta LeBlanc of Port Arthur, Texas; two godchildren, Felton Pete, Jr. and Quindarius White; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Guidry, Sr. and Lorena Johnson Guidry; a son, Dandridge White; two brothers, Earl Guidry, Jr. and Steven Guidry, Sr; grandchildren, Detrina White, Trommie White, Franchesca Cook; husband, Junious White; a grandson,Timmy DeBlanc; and great-grandsons, Tramus Lewis and Jari’ Ron LeBlanc.
Syrie Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements.
