Mrs. Laura H. Simon

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Laura H. Simon, 70  , will be celebrated on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lyons Point. Father Clint Trahan, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will serve as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00PM in Duhon  Funeral  Home, Crowley, Then Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.  and Monday, January 20, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. til time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. Sunday evening in the funeral home chapel.  

Mrs. Simon passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 12:06 A.M. at her residence in Lyons Point.

A native and lifelong resident of Lyons Point, Mrs. Simon was born in Kaplan, LA.

Mrs. Simon was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point, where she was a member of the ladies Altar Society and she was a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Felicee Vicknair and husband, Jimmy of Lyons Point; three sons, Chester Simon, Jr. and wife, Michele of Lyons Point, Craig Simon and wife Denise of Kaplan and Chris Simon and wife, Tracy of Eunice; grandchildren, Chester “Trey” Simon, III and his wife, Tegan of Lyons Point, Rebecca Simon and fiancé , Keith Foreman of Lyons Point, Carsyn Simon of Lyons  Point, Amber Simon of Crowley, Courtney Leger and husband, Blake of Lyons Point, Gabbi  Dalby of Kaplan, Jack Dalby of Kaplan, Laura Simon of Kaplan, Tyler Boone and fiancé, Lauren Breaux of Lyons Point, Julie Boone of Lyons Point, Macie White and fiancé, Aaron Carter of Vidor, TX, Sarah Lejeune of Eunice, Emma Simon of Eunice and Caleb Simon of Eunice and great grandchildren, Aubrey Bellard of Lyons Point, Kayzlee Foreman of Lyons Point,  Brantlee Foreman of Lyons Point and Tatum Simon of Lyons Point; one sister-in-law, Mildred Credeur of Lyons Point.

Preceding Mrs. Simon were her husband, Chester John “Molo” Simon; her parents, Wilbert and Enola Hargrave; one brother, Wilbert Hargrave, Jr.; one brother-in-law, Oran Credeur.

Serving as pallbearers are Chester Simon, Craig Simon, Chris Simon, Trey Simon, Jimmy Vicknair, Tyler Boone, Stephen Primeaux and Gerald Credeur.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jack Dalby, Carsyn Simon, Blake Leger, Caleb Simon, Zack Breaux and Keith Foreman
