Nelson T. Jeanise
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Nelson T. Jeanise, 76, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne with Rev. Sam Fontana as Celebrant.
The family is requesting that visitation be held at Duhon Funeral Home – Rayne Chapel on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from noon until 10 p.m., with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. and will resume on Thursday at 8 a.m. until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the church service and will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery # 2 in Rayne.
Mr. Jeanise passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Southwind Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Crowley.
Nelson was in the shipbuilding business, building offshore crew boats as well as yachts for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, golfing, spending time with his family and friends, cooking and entertaining and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda W. Jeanise of Pensacola, Florida; son, Roderick Jeanise and his wife Sharon of Branch; daughters, Lana J. Hebert and her husband David of Rayne, Wenona Ann Miller and her fiance’ Wade Miller of Rayne and Daisy J. Duval and her husband Louis Duval III of Rayne; sister, JoAnn S. Jeanise of Youngsville; grandchildren, Racheal Matlock and her husband Ryan of Branch, Derrick J. Jeanise of Branch, Heather E. Jeanise of Branch, Matthew J. Miller of Rayne and Hunter S. Miller of Rayne; great-grandchildren, Braylon Matlock and Ahna Matlock, both of Branch; as well as numerous friends, relatives and co-workers.
Mr. Jeanise was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lauria Jeanise; one brother, John Gibson Jeanise; first wife, Wanda T. Jeanise; and second wife Carol L. Jeanise.
Pallbearers will be Racheal Matlock, Heather Jeanise, Derrick Jeanise, Matthew Miller, Hunter Miller and Ryan Matlock. Honorary pallbearers will be David Hebert, Louis Duval III and Wade Miller.
Mr. Jeanise’s family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Southwind Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Crowley for the care shown to Mr. Jeanise and his family.
