Paul Duhon

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Paul Duhon, 80, who died December 27, 2013.

Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. Sunday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Paul was a four year veteran of the Korean War having been honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of American Legion Post 15, and Chapter Two Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Duhon was retired as head bookkeeper at Acadia Lumber Yard, Inc., having worked for the Fruge family 37 years.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ella Mae Abshire Duhon of Crowley; three sons, Jerry Duhon and his wife, Stacy of Crowley, Mike Duhon and his wife, Mary of Cypress, TX, and Ricky Duhon and his wife, Mary of Tomball, TX; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Austin, Erin, Brent, Brooke, Jeff, Kevin, Christin, and Nick; and ten great-grandchildren.

Mr. Duhon is preceded in death by his parents, Alcide and Irma Touchet Duhon; and one brother, Junius Duhon.

His pallbearers will be his grandsons.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Paul Duhon’s name to the baseball program of American Legion Post 15 P.O. Box 786 Crowley, LA 70527.
