Romonia Ann Gotte Ravey

 

Funeral Services for Romonia Ravey 64, of Evangeline were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Mitchell Gotte officiating. Visitation was held at the funeral home in Jennings on Friday, July 4 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation resumed on Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of her services. Romonia was laid to rest in Gary Memorial Cemetery.

 Romonia was born in Jennings, on September 23, 1949 to the late Ellis Gotte and the late Eunice Gotte. She was called to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 3, 2014 while surrounded by her loving family. She was a homemaker who loved to crochet, sew, and cook for her family. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.  She also enjoyed going to concerts: Loretta Lynn, Charlie Pride and Conway Twitty were among her favorites. Romonia loved to decorate her Christmas tree every year, as much as she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Romonia is survived by her beloved husband, Clinton Ravey of Jennings, one daughter, Wendy Ravey Signorelli (Robert) of Crowley, two sons, Carl Ravey (Monique) of Baton Rouge, Paul Ravey of Waldron, Ar; seven beautiful grandchildren, Josh, Zachary, Riley, Jacob, Kendall, Nicole Ravey and Adam Signorelli. Romonia is also survived by; three sisters, Norma Lanthier (Jimmy) of Carlyss, Dora Richard (Allen) Of Port Neches, Texas, Judy Gotte of Iota; three brothers, Calwin Gotte (Sue) of Victoria, Texas, Murray Gotte (Geneva) of Carlyss, and Edwin Gotte (Denise) of Huntsville, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Eunice Gotte, and one niece, Crystal Dietz.

Carrying Romonia to her final resting place in Gary Memorial Cemetery will be Josh Ravey, Carl Ravey, Paul Ravey, Kendall Ravey, Shane Dietz, and Robert Signorelli. Honorary Pallbearer will be Adam Signorelli.
