Rose Davis

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Davis will be held Saturday, July 19. Viewing at Wilturner Funeral Home, located at 577 N. Avenue C in Crowley, will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the services will start at noon at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Crowley.

Mrs. Rose Davis was born to the late Earl Rogers and Rosemary Nero on Sept. 26, 1947, in Church Point. At a young age, she moved to Kaplan and attended grade school in Abbeville then later she moved to Crowley where she was united in marriage to Mr. Gerald Davis for 26 years. Rose was employed at Crowley Manufacturing Company for 18 years, but her true passion was being a chef. She was also a faithful member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church until her health failed her.

She leaves to cherish her memories her faithful husband, Gerald Davis; two sons, Louis J. Rogers and Donavon Davis (Latacia); one daughter, Dominique Davis; three brothers, Gerald Rogers, Antonio Rogers (Stacy) and Theodore Knatt Rogers; four sisters, Shirley Oviawe (Victor), Althea Hall (Chris), Lisa Rogers-Powers and Tina Knatt Rogers; one aunt, Velma Landry; godchild, Brandy Spencer; mother-in-law, Mary Davis; four brothers-in-law, Curvis Davis, Newlson Davis, Rickey Davis and Antoine Davis; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Davis and Santoria Davis; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Rogers and Rosemary Nero; one brother, Herman Joseph Rogers; and one sister, Geraldine Rogers.

Internment will be at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 610 N. Main Street in Breaux Bridge.
