Thelma Comeaux Rourk,

Rayne—A Mass of Christian Burial for Thelma Comeaux Rourk,  78, of Rayne will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 P.M.  Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Rourk passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 4:25 A.M. in her Rayne residence.

A native of Rayne, Mrs. Rourk was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She enjoyed spending time in her garden, but her greatest joy in life was being with and caring for her family, especially her grandsons.

Survivors include her daughters, Becky Burnett and husband, Michael of Mire, and Dale Rourke-Meche and husband, Kenneth of Mire; son, Michael Rourke and companion, Donna Talley of Lafayette; sisters, Lula Mae Holt of Winnie, TX, Velma Rogers of Raleigh, MS, Alice Thibodeaux of Mire, Dottie Copeland and husband, Greg of Lacassas, TN, and Mary Judice of Loreauville; grandsons, Robbie Fontenot of Rayne, Matt Rourke of Rayne, Clayton Burnett and wife, Savannah of Lake Charles, and Corey Rourke of Cookevlle, TN; a great-grandchild on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Rourk in death were her husband, Mervin Joseph Rourk; daughter, Laura Mae Rourk; brother, L.J. Comeaux; grandchild, Alex Henry Burnett; and parents, Alex and Hazel Castille Comeaux.

Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Whitehead, Robbie Fontenot, Matt Rourke, Corey Rourke, Clayton Burnett, and Ronnie Prudhomme.  Named as honorary pallbearer is Brandon Porrier.
