Wilbur Joseph Leger

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Thursday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. for Wilbur Joseph Leger, 77, who died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at his daughter’s residence in Mire.

Interment will be in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Church Point.

Surviving are one son, Donnie Leger of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Michelle Leger Duplantis and husband Shannon of Mire; three grandchildren, Tori Leger Defreitas, Trace Duplantis and Toye Duplantis; and two sisters, Helen Miller of Scott and Sable Blanchard of Eunice.

He was preceded in death by wife, Loretta Schexnayder Leger; and parents, Edgar Leger and Rena Carrier Leger.

He was a retired deputy from the Acadia Parish Sheriff Office in Crowley.

A rosary will be recited Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.

Friends will be received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
