William James LeBlanc

A Mass of Christian Burial for William James LeBlanc, 79, was celebrated on Saturday, June 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne. Father Kevin Bordelon, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, served as celebrant.
Entombment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 1 in Rayne.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 17, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation continued on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
Mr. LeBlanc passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016, in his Crowley residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Acadia Parish, Mr. LeBlanc was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years.
Mr. LeBlanc held various jobs over the years, including at Stamm Raymond Car Dealership, John Menard Tire Company, Benoit Lumber Company, and Dillard’s Department Store. He was also an accomplished photographer, having taken pictures as a hobby, as well as doing wedding photography. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his sister, Grace L. Suiter of Rayne; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mr. LeBlanc in death were his parents, Ignace and Lucille Hebert LeBlanc; brothers, Thomas LeBlanc and Dudley LeBlanc; and sister, Eva Theunissen.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael Suiter, Mark Suiter, Dexter Theunissen, Sam Theunissen, Steve Theunissen, and Randy LeBlanc.
