The Lady Wolves (22-3, 4-1) dropped their first district contest Tuesday to Teurlings during a three-game match in Lafayette (21-25, 20-25, 22-25).
The close match saw the Lady Wolves have trouble with their offense at times, opening the door for Teurlings to take the needed lead for the win.
Leading net play for Rayne was Tarya Kanonu with 8 kills and 3 blocks.
Adding to the Rayne offense were Charlesha Dugas, Charlayne Peltier and Layni Boudreaux.
Boudreaux also led in assists with 11, followed by teammate Tristan Mouton with 6.
Rayne defense was held down by Katie Benoit with 10 digs, Whitney Fontenot (5), Blair Bergeron (4) and Shelli Alleman (3).
The Lady Wolves will continue district play today (Thursday) when they travel to North Vermilion. Rayne will return home Tuesday, Oct. 14, when they host Iota High.
