Baggett named Southland's Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas--  McNeese junior guard Allison Baggett has been named this week’s Southland Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
Baggett, a native of Iota, led McNeese in scoring in both games against Centenary and Louisiana-Monroe.  She started the week off with a season-high 26 points in the Cowgirls’ win over Centenary.  Baggett followed that performance three days later with a career-high 31 points against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.
For the week, Baggett averaged 28.5 points per game, a 49.0 field goal shooting percent (24-49) and was perfect from the free throw line (6-6), making all six attempts against UL-Monroe.
Baggett currently leads the Cowgirls in scoring and ranks third in the SLC with 17.1 ppg. She has scored in double figures in five of the last six games.
