Lady Warriors fall short in tourney finals

DELCAMBRE – The Northside Christian Lady Warriors went 3-1 over the weekend to claim runnersup honors in the Delcamble Tournament.
The Lady Warriors (12-8) knocked off Franklin in the tournament opener and then topped Westgate before slipping past North Vermilion in semifinals.
In the finals, ESA and Northside split the first two games before the Lady Warriors dropped the third and final game, 18-16.
The Lady Warriors were led by junior middle blocker Kathryn Zaunbrecher who had 26 kills, 12 blocks, five aces and 17 digs over the weekend. Victoria Monte added 12 kills, two blocks, two aces and one dig while Leah Monte had seven kills, two aces and 45 digs.
Zoie Hanagriff followed with five kills, six aces and 35 digs and Madisyn Clement had four kills, four aces, 35 digs and 22 assists.
Also contributing in the tournament were Chloe Dietz (2 kills, 1 ace, 10 digs, 13 assists); Brooke Stanford (2 kills, 1 ace, 3 digs); Meghan Vincent (1 kill, 61 digs); Sydni Guidry (2 aces, 12 digs, 12 assists) and Aubrey Armstrong (1 ace, 4 digs).
The Lady Warriors return to action today when they play host to Beau Chene before opening district play on the road Thursday at Westminster.
