Prep Volleyball Roundup: ND, NCS log victories
YOUNGSVILLE – The Notre Dame Lady Pios evened their record at 3-3 earlier in the week with a 3-1 victory on the road at Ascension Episcopal.
Grace Morgan and Olivia Barbin dominated in the contest, combining for 45 points in the four games.
Morgan led the charge with 17 kills and eight blocks while Barbin added 15 kills, two blocks and three aces. Morgan also had three digs while Barbin recorded 12 digs.
Anne Faulk contributed with five kills, one block and one assist and Paityn Desselle had three kills and seven digs.
Hunter LeBlanc had 15 assists on the night as well as 10 digs while Sammi Leger had one ace, 19 assists and five digs.
The Lady Pios competed in the Ursuline Tournament in New Orleans over the weekend and will return to action on Tuesday when they play host to Sam Houston.
NCS tops Delcambre
CROWLEY – The Northside Christian Lady Warriors improved to 6-3 on the season with a 3-0 victory over Delcambre on Thursday.
Kathryn Zaunbrecher logged 10 kills, five blocks and two aces in the victory while Victoria Monte had five kills, one block, three aces and two digs. Leah Monte had four kills and 14 digs; Madi Clement had one kill, one ace, five assists and seven digs and setter Sydni Guidry logged one kill, 11 assists and seven aces.
Also contributing in the victory were Zoie Hanagriff (5 aces, 10 digs), Meghan Vincent (18 digs), Choloe Dietz (3 assists, 7 digs), Aubrey Armstrong (3 digs) and Brooke Stanford (1 dig).
The Lady Warriors return to action Tuesday when they travel to North Vermilion.
Church Point downs Crowley
CHURCH POINT – The Crowley Ladies fell to 5-10 on the season and 0-3 in league play with a 3-0 loss to Church Point Thursday evening.
Myah Rogers led the Ladies with eight kills, four blocks and two aces while Bailee Villejoin had four kills, one block, one ace and four digs. Melania Doughty and Kathryn Arceneaux added one kill each.
Chadelyn Yokum scored with three aces and Cierra Brooks recorded five digs.
The Ladies return to action Tuesday when they travel to Lafayette to take on Teurlings in a district contest.
